Carmencita Quesada Fulgado PhD , president of the University of the Philippines Alumni Association-NY chapter, is happy to announce that following the successful production of Memories,,,A Legacy Gift last year, her second coffee table book raising scholarship for UP, Memories of UP Alumni United in now in the making.UP President Alfredo E. Pascual has accepted to be Honorary Chair and with assigned directors in the Offices of the Chancellors, Team ONE U.P. was created. UPAlumni Association in Diliman has also joined the Team. UPAA Executive Director Romy Carlos wrote on March 20, 2013 "Yes, UPAA is willing and ready to help with your Memories of UP Alumni United".
Team One U.P. is extending to UP Alumni in the Philippines and abroad the invitation to be a contributor , whether they were in the previous books but especially if they missed the first two...the invitation is for them to have their family story beyond their professional success , to be in the recorded history of the University. They may have been written about before, but this time " they are to write for the University in gratitude for what has become of them and their children, grandchildren and beyond...their story,their legacy to be read by generations to come". ..explains Dr. Fulgado. To date, since she signed her first Deed of Donation with UP Foundation in 2000, the endowment fund created by her "shepherding" alumni abroad has reached $153,000 and has helped 19 students complete their course and graduate at UP. The goal is that with UP graduates abroad and in the Philippines united, this will reach $200,000.
